Saoirse Ronan has already proven to be an incredible talent. Her work in HANNA, THE LOVELY BONES and of course ATONEMENT has earner her critical raves as well as an Academy Award nomination. At only eighteen years of age, the actress has shown incredible range and the ability to carry a film. Next up for Saoirse is the latest adaption of a Stephenie Meyer book (TWILIGHT) called THE HOST...you may have heard about it.
In THE HOST, Ronan must portray two characters living within the same body, sort of like Gollum/Smeagol but her character is not insane. For a lesser actress this could have been a disaster, but thankfully Saoirse is able to make this work and she does a terrific job as Melanie/Wanda (aka Wanderer). We talked about the voice-over work and the fact that I upset a few of her fans when I used the word “f*ck” the last time we spoke.
