James Franco and Ashley Benson lied about dating each other?

James Franco and Ashley Benson were rumored to be dating a couple of months ago, but the rumors came to a halt when Franco indirectly denied the rumors through his blog post on Huffington Post.

However, in recent light of the many Spring Breakers premieres that have been occuring the past couple of weeks, new light has been shed on the status of their relationship. Franco and Benson may have denied they're dating, but that desn't explain the Huffington Post report that stated that they were both caught holding hands at the SXSW premiere of Spring Breakers. Of course, it's a 'platonic' friendship and friends are allowed to hold hands, sure.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore Return to the Screen of Love for a Third Time!

That headline was pure cheese, yes, but most of Adam and Drew's movies are also total cheese (in a good way, of course), so hey. Birds of a feather and all that, right?

Variety reports that Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore will be taking on the big screen for their third time as a couple in a romantic comedy, and the story is set to revolve around a couple who embarked upon a horrible blind date and how they eventually got trapped at a family resort with their respective children, sired from previous marriages.

If this isn't a way to get your career back on track after projects like "Jack and Jill" and "Just Go With It", then gosh. Who knows what will. A sequel to "Airheads", maybe? No?

Paul W.S. Anderson Directing ‘Resident Evil 6′

The subtitling of Paul W. S. Anderson’s Resident Evil franchise can be a little difficult to keep track of (though not as difficult as the game series, where a numbered installment only comes along once in a blue moon), so a quick recap might be useful before discussing the latest news regarding Resident Evil 6. The film series has so far been roughly divided into two trilogies, the first consisting of Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Resident Evil: Extinction, with the saga continuing in Resident Evil: Afterlife and Resident Evil: Retribution. At this point, we probably need a mnemonic by which to remember all the subtitles.

BIOSHOCK Movie Is Dead; WATCHMEN May Be to Blame

Looks like fans of Irrational Games’ Bioshock will have to be content with watching the story play out exclusively on their TV screens.  Ken Levine, the creative director of Irrational, has officially cancelled any plans for a movie adaptation.  Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, Rango) was originally attached to direct with big plans to make Bioshock a very hard R-rated movie. After several years with the movie in development, Verbinski eventually left and passed the mantel to Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later).  The project halted when it was put into indefinite delay about two years ago, and a year later Fresnadillo confirmed he was no longer involved.  Hit the jump to find out why the cancellation came about, and how it’s connected to the box office failure of Zack Snyder’s Watchmen.

'Wreck-It Ralph,' 'Breaking Dawn' Top DVD Sales

Disney's animated feature tops Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart, but the final "Twilight" movie takes the crown for total unit sales.

The top-selling disc of the week was either Walt Disney Studios’ Wreck-It Ralph or Lionsgate’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

It all depends on how you look at things.

Disney’s animated feature topped the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks overall disc sales, its first week in stores. The film, which earned $187.9 million at the domestic box office, also debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart for the week ending March 10.

‘Django Unchained’ is the First Quentin Tarantino Movie to be Released In China

The issue of film censorship in China has been a particularly hot topic so far this year, beginning in January with loud protests and calls for reform after Skyfall was heavily edited to remove content such as James Bond killing a Chinese security guard, a prostitute working in the administrative region of Macau, and antagonist Silva mentioning torture by Chinese agents. Since China has no motion picture rating system, all films are subject to censorship by the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, a board which can deem material unsuitable for Chinese audiences on the basis of sex/nudity, language, violence, or content that is considered damaging to the sensibilities of the Chinese government and culture.

Leslie Mann, 'Game of Thrones' Star in Talks for Fox's 'The Other Woman'

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will join Cameron Diaz in the cheating comedy from Fox.

Leslie Mann and Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are in negotiations to star opposite Cameron Diaz in 20th Century Fox’s The Other Woman.

Julie Yorn is producing the comedy which sees a woman (Diaz) finding out that she is “the other woman” in an affair. She teams up with the wife (Mann) to get revenge on the cheating cad of a husband (Coster-Waldau).

Nick Cassavetes is directing the project, which was written by Melissa Stack and will shoot late spring/early summer in New York.

No Azazel or Nightcrawler in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’?

One of the most interesting and arguably most underutilized elements of the original X-Men trilogy were its blue mutant characters. From the shapeshifting and eye-catching Mystique to the fan-favorite teleporter Nightcrawler and the lovable and intelligent Beast. Alan Cumming put on a German accent, lots of makeup and hand-drawn tattoos, along with prosthetics (including a tail), to play Kurt Wagner AKA Nightcrawler in X-Men 2 but wasn’t brought back for Brett Ratner’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

With Singer returning to the director’s chair for X-Men: Days of Future Past and making it a mission to see the return of practically everyone from the X-Men trilogy in addition to the core cast of First Class, moviegoers understandably wish to see Nightcrawler back, and actor James McAvoy gave fans a reason to be hopeful.

Kristen Bell, Rob Thomas Launch 'Veronica Mars' Movie Kickstarter, Seeking $2 Million

The cult detective comedy, which ran from 2004-2007, has long been the subject of revival rumors. Now, they're trying to make it happen through grassroots support.

Time for fans to put their money where their unending blog speculation is: if they want a Veronica Mars movie, here's a shot to make it happen.

Since the Kristen Bell-starring cult teenage detective comedy was canceled in 2007, the devoted following has clamored for a big screen revival. So far, it's been a corporate no-go, despite constant fan chatter, so creator Rob Thomas is making an appeal to the viewership to help fund the project. On Wednesday, he launched a Kickstarter campaign with the aim of raising $2 million in a single month, which would be put toward making the film this summer for an early 2014 release.

Cross Creek Pictures has announced that production is underway on writer/director Scott Frank’s (The Lookout) crime thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones.  Filming is taking place in New York on the pic, which stars Liam Neeson as an alcoholic ex-cop who investigates the kidnapping of a heroin drug lord’s wife, teaming up with a heroin trafficker and his brother to hunt down the men responsible for the crime.  Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) and Boyd Holbrook (Milk) star as the trafficker and his brother, respectively, and Ruth Wilson (Anna Karenina) is also onboard as Neeson’s former colleague.

The film is based on one of a series of Matt Scudder crime novels by author Lawrence Block. David Harbour (End of Watch), Mark Consuelos (American Horror Story), and Astro (The X-Factor) round out the cast. Hit the jump to read the full press release, which includes the official synopsis.

Steven Soderbergh to Deliver San Francisco Film Festival's State of Cinema Address

The director, who has said he is retiring from filmmaking, will offer his views on the film industry on April 27.

Steven Soderbergh will deliver the annual State of Cinema Address at the 56th San Francisco International Film Festival.

Soderbergh has said he is retiring from filmmaking, which should only heighten interest in his appearance at the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas on April 27, when he is scheduled to discuss the intersecting worlds of cinema, culture and society.

Sylvester Stallone Wants More Humor for EXPENDABLES 3, Hopes to Add Jackie Chan and Promises “Young Blood”

You can tell Sylvester Stallone is having a helluva good time with The Expendables franchise, but the writer/director/actor wants to bring a bit more humor into the mix.  Taking to Twitter this evening, Stallone commented on the tone of The Expendables 3, which he is currently writing, and hopefully getting Jackie Chan into the cast as was previously rumored.  He also gave a brief update on an action star who would not be making the cut and alluded to an injection of “young blood” into the franchise.  Hit the jump to see what he had to say.

Steven Spielberg Hopes ‘Tintin 2′ Will Be Released in 2015

While Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin wasn’t a major box office success here in the states (it only made $77 million), the worldwide take ($373 million) was far more impressive, thanks to brand recognition overseas. And though the motion-capture film was not an incredibly faithful adaptation of Hergé’s beloved comic strip, it was considered by some to be the old school Spielberg action-adventure that Indiana Jones 4 should’ve been.

The Adventures of Tintin 2 is slated to be directed by Peter Jackson, who’s currently working on The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and The Hobbit: There and Back Again (2014). The recent delay of the latter film left people wondering whether or not Jackson would be able to work on Tintin 2 later this year, as he’d previously planned. Now, according to Steven Spielberg, he (“hopefully“) will.

Superman And Lois Lane Stand Majestically For Total Film's Man Of Steel Cover

For some films, especially ones veiled in secrecy, any early images released are like the aromas wafting from a good meal, hopefully hinting at the excitement to come. However, for films with iconic characters that we’ve seen a billion times, such as Superman, those first images need to do something other than just stand there and look majestic. Of course, for someone as theoretically powerful as Superman is, maybe that’s supposed to be enough.

The fantastic British magazine Total Film revealed the cover for their May 2013 issue, which showcases Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as Supes and Lois Lane, standing there stoically, looking towards something off in the foreground. Aren’t people supposed to be looking up towards Superman? The duo admittedly looks ready for action, but without any other point of focus, it’s an underwhelming image. Especially considering the cover quote, “It’s time for a change.” Take a look at the newsstand and exclusive subscription covers below, and see if you agree.

Danny Boyle’s ‘Trance’ Launches Viral Marketing Sites

Danny Boyle is probably best known to mainstream audiences as the filmmaker behind the Academy Award-winning drama Slumdog Millionaire, but with Trance, the British director – who brought the world Trainspotting and 28 Days Later before scoring Oscar gold – returns to the world of mind-bending thrillers.

The film stars James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel and centers on an art auctioneer named Simon (McAvoy) who must undergo hypnosis to remember where he hid a priceless work of art. From there, the plot delves further and further into Simon’s psyche, as memory and illusion become more and more entangled.

Drew Barrymore to Star Opposite Adam Sandler in Warner Bros. Romantic Comedy

Drew Barrymore is once again re-teaming with Adam Sandler, signing on to Sandler’s untitled romantic comedy set up at Warner Bros. The project, which was initially called Blended when it was set up as a pitch in 2007, centers on a man and a woman who, after a disastrous first date, get trapped at a family resort with their kids from previous marriages in tow. An attraction begins to grow despite comedic mishaps.

Sandler boarded the project in February; at the time, Barrymore was pegged as the frontrunner for the female lead.

Is ‘Jurassic Park 4′ Shooting this Summer?

Last we heard, the long-rumored Jurassic Park 4 was set for a summer 2014 release. That announcement punctuated over a decade of rumors and discussion about the film and lent a sense of validation for fans holding out for a revival of the once-blockbuster franchise.

Thus far, no director or cast members (new or returning) have been confirmed. Even the central concept for the film remains a mystery. However, some new information has just sprung up that may indicate that answers are on the way.

Ken Levine Explains Why the ‘BioShock’ Movie Was Canceled

It’s been a long and arduous road for the film adaptation of BioShock, one of the most critically-acclaimed video games of all time. The story began back in May 2008, when Universal announced that they’d made a deal with games publisher Take-Two Interactive to produce the adaptation, with Gore Verbinski directing from a script written by John Logan.

After several years of battling for a film that would maintain the edginess and maturity of the game’s story, the project was eventually euthanized.

S. Epatha Merkerson May Play Marvin Gaye's Mom In Biopic

You may not know much about the life of Marvin Gaye, but undoubtedly you're well versed in his hit song "Sexual Healing." Fittingly, Sexual Healing will be the name of the Marvin Gaye biopic penned by Lauren Goodman (A Last Goodbye) and helmed by Julien Temple (Earth Girls Are Easy). The would-be biopic has been bouncing around in development for a while, but seems to be gaining steam as casting news continues to emerge!

Earlier this month, Law & Order star Jesse L. Martin stepped in to replace Lenny Kravitz in the lead role of Gaye. Now Deadline reports Martin's Law & Order co-star S. Epatha Merkerson has entered into talks to join the pic. The celebrated actress whose played Lt. Anita Van Buren for an incredible 19 years is up for the role of Gaye's mother, Alberta. Should she sign on, Merkerson would join a cast that also includes Brendan Gleeson, who'll portray British music promoter Freddy Cousaert.
The actor recalls the cigarette burn that left a mark while filming the Antoine Fuqua-directed action thriller.

In Gerard Butler’s latest action flick Olympus Has Fallen, the actor plays a former Secret Service agent who returns to the White House when the President (Aaron Eckhart) is taken hostage by a Korean terrorist group. The patriotic thriller -- also starring Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo and Dylan McDermott -- is packed with fight sequences, and one particular stunt with McDermott resulted in actual injuries on both sides.

‘Star Wars Episode VII’: Billy Dee Williams Considering Return as Lando Calrissian

In this unfolding saga of Star Wars Episode VII news, most of the headlines have been focused on issues like Luke, Leia and Han Solo returning to the franchise, or what kind of spinoff films we’ll see down the line. However, we know what hardcore Star Wars fans have been thinking all along: What’s up with Lando Calrissian?

With the recent word that original franchise stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are all set to make a (at least cameo) return in Episode VII, there have been rumblings about whether actor Billy Dee Williams might also make an appearance, as an older and wiser version of Lando the Baron Administrator from Cloud City. Today we have word from the actor himself on the matter.

Disney Planning Live-Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Movie

The news that Disney intends to produce a live-action Beauty and the Beast retelling (probably in 3D) might come across as sacrilege for those who grew up loving the company’s traditionally-animated version, but shouldn’t be a surprise following the successful (as in cash cow) fairy tale revisionist blockbusters Alice in Wonderland and Oz the Great and Powerful.

Mouse House executives are calling the project The Beast and have recruited Joe Ahearne to write the script. Ahearne co-wrote the upcoming Danny Boyle-directed thriller Trance (loosely based on the screenwriter’s 2001 TV movie), in addition to previously writing for the TV series Ultraviolet and Apparitions and the forthcoming Da Vinci’s Demons. His resume suggests Ahearne was brought aboard to write a darker fairy tale re-imagining – something which pushes Disney’s family-friendly boundaries further than Tim Burton’s gloomy vision of Wonderland (or Sam Raimi’s threatening rendition of Oz).

‘Star Wars Episode 7′: Joss Whedon Wouldn’t Have Brought Back Original Characters

Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm (and the announcement of new Star Wars films) stands as one of the biggest developments the entertainment world has seen in years. Almost instantly, the debate began on which filmmaker should be entrusted with re-launching the franchise, and while JJ Abrams was ultimately selected to direct Episode 7, one fan favorite name never had a chance at the job: Joss Whedon.

The Avengers writer/director, many fans argue, would have made a brilliant choice to make the film. After all, his work with Marvel (in addition to TV series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly) prove that he knows a thing or two about working with ensemble casts – and dealing with supernatural forces. Plus, those projects also feature the balance of light-hearted adventure, wry humor and character-motivated story that has made Star Wars one of the most beloved film series of all-time.

Antoine Fuqua on Dennis Rodman's North Korea Trip, Violence in Movies and His Eminem Film

The "Olympus Has Fallen" director says of Rodman: "It’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen... He’s doing me a favor. Keeping me in the news. He should be on TV more."

Antoine Fuqua spent the first decade of this 21st century working almost without a stop, pumping out nine feature and TV movies in ten years, most notably the gritty cop dramas Training Day (for which Denzel Washington his first Oscar) and Brooklyn's Finest. But since 2009, he's only released one film -- a TV movie called Exit Strategy, made with his frequent collaborator Ethan Hawke -- as several of his passion projects have been delayed for various financial and personal reasons.

Mark Ruffalo Responds to ‘Planet Hulk’ Rumors

In early February an epic rumor surrounding the potential future of Mark Ruffalo’s role in Marvel Studios’ franchise led us to believe that after The Avengers 2 in 2015, the Hulk character would get a chance to smash solo once again. The scoop detailed a plan involved The Avengers 2 teeing up a Planet Hulk movie that would in turn factor into the story of The Avengers 3, taking advantage of Ruffalo’s six-picture contract.

The rumors seemed plausible considering the fan support for Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner in The Avengers and the promising words from Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige, who said the Planet Hulk (and World War Hulk) storylines were certainly of interest. However, there’s been nothing but denials and contradictions to this report since.

Kevin Smith Describes ‘Clerks 3′ As His Own ‘Cinema Paradiso’

Keeping track of Kevin Smith’s career trajectory has proven difficult in the last couple of years. Since 2011, he’s gone from naming his hockey film, Hit Somebody, as his final cinematic effort, to splitting that picture into two parts, to remolding it as a TV mini-series and identifying Clerks 3 as his retirement project instead.

Despite his bouts of indecision, he appears to be following through on his word this time and starting work on a script treatment for the latter production.

'Trainspotting' Sequel to Film With Original Cast in 2016

In 2012, Danny Boyle confirmed that he moved forward with a sequel to his 1996 hit film, "Trainspotting". Recently, Boyle revealed that he would film the adaptation of Irvine Welsh's "Porno" in 2016. Furthermore, he believed the entire original cast members would be returning for the sequel.

"This has been a long time coming. There's always been this long term plan for 'Trainspotting 2', if John (Hodge) can produce a decent enough script, I don't think there will be any barriers to Ewan (McGregor) or any of the cast coming back... I think they'll wanna know that the parts are good so they don't feel like they are letting anyone down," Boyle said of the project.

RoboCop Star Joel Kinnaman Joins Liam Neeson For Crime Thriller All Nighter

As the somewhat sleazy Homicide Detective Stephen Holder on The Killing, actor Joel Kinnaman plays a character who investigates death. For his next feature film role, he’ll be the one witnessing it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kinnaman is close to signing on for the Warner Bros. crime thriller All Nighter, which was formerly titled Run All Night after being titled All Nighter to begin with. He’ll play Liam Neeson’s son in the film, which will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a spec script written by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace). Beyond his TV work, the Swedish-born Kinnaman was most recently seen in the romantic comedy Lola Versus, as well as the crime drama Safe House with Denzel Washington. His next role will definitely test his leading male capabilities as he takes on the central role of John Murphy in José Padilha’s RoboCop reboot coming out next year.

Dane DeHaan Dishes on 'Epic' Script of 'Amazing Spider-Man 2'

As "The Amazing Spider-Man" sequel starts filming in New York with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, new cast member Dane DeHaan assures that the screenwriters did a good job on penning an amazing script. The Harry Osborne depicter tells Collider, "It's awesome. It really is."

The 27-year-old actor explains what makes the script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner so good. "It's human and it's deep and it's also epic and still a huge superhero movie. But it all makes sense and it all comes from very human elements," he elaborates.

Selena Gomez Gone Wild: 'Spring Breakers' Debuts Stateside

The former Disney Channel star joins James Franco, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine for the U.S. premiere of Harmony Korine's latest.

Sunday night at South by Southwest Film Festival easily belonged to Spring Breakers, a kaleidoscopic fever dream from director Harmony Korine, who managed somehow to craft an art film steeped in the three tenets of 2013-era youth culture: sex, drugs and dubstep. Stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, former products of the Disney dream factory, don't just shed their good-girl images with the project --  they effectively drop a 50-megaton bomb on them.

Jason Batemen, Charlie Day & Jason Sudeikis Sign on for "Horrible Bosses 2"

It’s been a long while since we’ve heard anything about the proposed sequel to 2011 comedy hit Horrible Bosses. The film starred Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis as hapless employees who forge a plan to liberate each other from their nightmarish employers and went on to earn an impressive $209 million worldwide against a modest $35 million budget.

Following its release, a proposed sequel promptly secured writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to return, but any further movement on the project has remained slow. Until now.

Spring Breakers Delivers Drugs, Debauchery And James Franco's Best Performance Yet To SXSW

Apologies to the Evil Dead remake, but Spring Breakers felt like the first “Event” movie of the 2013 South By Southwest film festival, and why the fest didn’t choose to open with this seedy slice of Day-Glo Florida crime-scapades, I’ll never understand.

The Paramount Theater – a venue defined by the long lines of revelers wrapped around it on a regular basis during the festival – was busting at the seams tonight with rowdy SXSW audience members waiting to partake in Harmony Korine’s buzzed-about drama of debauchery. For the first time all festival, the Paramount staked its claim as like The Place To Be, screening The Movie everyone would be talking about immediately after.

Dane DeHaan on the Osborn Relationship in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The soft-spoken 27-year-old thesp Dane DeHaan locked onto the geek radar in a big way last year with the sleeper smash Chronicle, in which he played a high schooler whose super daddy issues outweigh his new cosmic superpowers, leading to massive super-villainy.

He continues the tortured father/son dynamic in Derek Cianfrance's new familial drama The Place Beyond the Pines, and we got to speak one-on-one with the intense young actor on Sunday about his upcoming role as Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and how that character's privileged upbringing distinguishes him from his other characters.

Box Office Guru Wrapup: Oz Racks Up Enchanting Debut

This weekend, Disney's big-budget Emerald City gamble paid off as the expensive 3D prequel Oz the Great and Powerful opened to sensational results at the North American box office accounting for well over half of all ticket sales thanks to one of the biggest debuts ever seen at this time of year. The PG-rated adventure bowed to a stunning $80.3M, according to estimates, from 3,912 theaters resulting in a spectacular $20,521 average.

It was the third biggest March opening ever trailing last year's The Hunger Games ($152.5M) and the 2010 Johnny Depp mega-smash Alice in Wonderland ($116.1M) and the fourth best during the entire January-to-March corridor. Directed by Sam Raimi, Oz stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz and tells the origin story behind the classic story The Wizard of Oz. The production budget is estimated to be at a staggering $215M but the excellent debut now indicates that this will end up as a moneymaker -- quite possibly with over $600M in global box office plus ancillaries.

Mel Brooks on 'Blazing Saddles' Musical, 'Pizza Man' Slasher Film

Mel Brooks doesn't sound like a man in his twilight years.

The comic genius who ushered in a whole new level of cinematic crudity with such classics as "Young Frankenstein" and "The Producers" may be 86 years old, but he isn't interested in retiring.

When he's not busy picking up honors, such as the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award, which he will accept this June, he's toying with turning another one of his films into a Broadway play, as he has done to multiple Tonys and big box office in the past. He may even try his hand at directing a slasher film, for a dramatic change of pace.

Could ‘Star Trek 3′ Be Released in 2016?

There’s no question that JJ Abrams’ sci-fi sequel Star Trek Into Darkness is among the most highly-anticipated films of the year. The director’s 2009 franchise reboot far exceeded most fans’ expectations (and introduced the crew of the USS Enterprise to a whole new generation).

Four long years have passed since that film’s release, meaning that Into Darkness has the pressure of living up to all that hype. The long-held mystery with regard to the film’s plot (and Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain) has finally started to crack, but with the recent announcement that Abrams will also helm that other fan favorite sci-fi titan, where does that leave the inevitable third film?

Mark Wahlberg's kids get Transformers ban

Mark Wahlberg's children are banned from watching 'Transformers'.
The father-of-four has just signed up to appear in the fourth movie of the action franchise but he admits his kids might not get to see it because they learnt bad language from the other films.

He said: ''My four-year-old son screamed, 'S**t!' the other day when his brother knocked the football out of his hand. I almost laughed, but thankfully I was able to hold it on, and I said, 'Get over here now! If you say that again, I'm going to wash your mouth out with soap. Where did you hear that kind of language?' And he looked up at me, and said, ''Transformers'. Then I told my wife, and we have the 'Transformers' DVDs down in their room - so they've been taken away now. But I hope they get to see the new one.''

David Twohy talks Riddick’s R-rating

Riddick promises to return the Vin Diesel sci-fi franchise to it's gritty Pitch Black roots, following on from the misfire that was The Chronicles Of Riddick.

Is Danny Boyle Interested In Being The Next James Bond Director?

As artistic director for the London Olympic Games, Danny Boyle had a brush with James Bond, featuring current 007 Daniel Craig in a parachute stunt that found Britain’s beloved spy skydiving with the Queen during the. Boyle-directed opening ceremonies. Now that Sam Mendes officially has passed on directing Bond 24, would the Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours director like to take a crack at a feature-length Bond story?

It’s a question I posed to Boyle at the conclusion of a roundtable interview today at the South By Southwest film festival. He was in Austin to drum up support for his latest feature, Trance, and enjoy a bit of a career retrospective at the Vimeo Theatre (our coverage from that even will be on the site shortly).
