Forget J.J. Abrams, forget Christopher Nolan...no one knows secrecy like Woody Allen. The prolific filmmaker continues his one-movie-per-year work schedule this summer with the release of "Blue Jasmine,"
and what do we know about it? Nothing really except that it finds the
filmmaker back on American soil after spending most of the last few
years gallivanting around Europe. But a new image is here, so you can
decipher all the clues you want.
First up, it features Cate Blanchet looking well dressed, but none too pleased, while Sally Hawkins throws some shade in the background. So, are we seeing a return to dramatic territory for Allen? The presence of guys like Louis C.K. and Andrew Dice Clay would refute that, while the involvement of Bobby Cannavale, Peter Sarsgaard, and Michael Stuhlbarg offer the counter argument. The logline doesn't offer much help either, explaining that the movie is “the story of the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife.” That could go either way.
